World Premiere, 6 Dec 2011, Amsterdam

Sergey is doing a "World Premiere" of the Violin Concerto Nr.2 by the armenian composer Arthur Aharonian.

The piece was written specially for Sergey and is commissioned by the "Amsterdam Sinfonietta", who will also perform the concerto with Sergey.

The concert will take place on the 6th December 2011, 20:15 in Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ

  On Tuesday, October 25th, 2011 the PRIX Montblanc 2011 has been handed over to the 26-year-old Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatryan by Lutz Bethge, CEO Montblanc International and the PRIX Montblanc Jury Prof. Justus Frantz, Prof. Li Biao and Prof. Jürgen Christ at the “Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt” in Berlin. The Ceremony was organised in a form of a Gala concert with many prominent guests.

The PRIX Montblanc is endowed with 10,000 EUR and the Montblanc Donation Pen Arturo Toscanini. This remarkable fountain pen edition honours outstanding personalities in the world of classical music and, at the same time, serves to promote new cultural and artistic projects, thanks to the donation made with each purchase.

"So the sixth PRIX Montblanc goes to..................... Sergey Khachatryan! Congratulations !"

Benefit Concert, Yerevan 17 Jan 2010

Sergey is participating in a benefit project of the World Doctors Orchestra in helping children in his country. The event is under patronage of the First Lady and the Health Minster of Armenia, charity project will be new equipment for dental medical care of an orphanage in Yerevan. Artist of the Month

Sergey is elected as March's Artist of the Month 2009 by the Mariinsky Thaetre St. Petersburg and their Artistic and General Director Valery Gergiev. Due to this special occasion, Sergey will perform three concerts in the Mariinsky Concert Hall, St. Peterburg.
